For most students, high school graduation is a celebration of hard work and excitement for what comes next. Yet for many students in Ecuador, that moment is overshadowed by uncertainty as they prepare to face adulthood with little guidance on their future.

After overcoming countless obstacles to earn their diploma, many cross the stage believing success means only one thing: university. But without support, they often make life-changing decisions with only a fraction of the information they need. Some pursue degrees that don't align with their interests, strengths, or career opportunities. Others never discover alternative paths such as technical education, certifications, apprenticeships, or career-focused training. Many simply take whatever work they can find to help support themselves and their families.

In each case, talented young people begin to believe their future is smaller than it really is.

Their dreams don't end at graduation. Their support often does.

That's where Amazolar steps in.

Through Iluminando Caminos (Lighting Pathways), we help under-resourced students in Quito explore the opportunities available to them after high school—whether that means university, technical education, entrepreneurship, or employment. Through mentorship, workshops, and real-world exposure, students gain the confidence and guidance needed to make informed decisions about their futures.

In our pilot program, 20 students from five communities have already begun that journey. With your support, many more will discover that their future is wider than they've been told.
