Haiti - Emmanuel Kant School

Haiti - Emmanuel Kant School

Founded in October 2010, College Mixte Emmanuel Kant is a communal school located in Cange, Haiti. The area is located on a plateau between mountains and is primarily an agricultural region. Most families in Cange rely on agriculture for making a living, but the land is not fertile enough to grow food for even one year. Families in Cange and the surrounding area are unable to save money or send their children to school.

These children and their families had no opportunity to build a better tomorrow through education until the founding of Emmanuel Kant School.

Children in Cange experience malnutrition and misery daily. Sadly, these daily conditions and struggle to survive cause many people in Cange to lose hope and wait for nothing but death to bring relief. The deterioration of the Haitian political system of the last 10 years has only made the difficult circumstances worse for the Haitian people. Haiti has also been impacted by earthquakes and hurricanes in recent years leading to more economic instability. The economy, social conditions and consequences of no education make the future seem hopeless for many Haitians and their children.

Every contribution made through Education Equals Hope to help Emmanuel Kant School helps sustain the daily education at the school and brings hope to the children in Cange. The children of Haiti are the hope for the nation. Every person who contributes helps the people and children of Cange place a new stone in a building, give a boost to the economy and help diminish the rate of youth delinquency. Help us cast out misery, not only in Cange, but also in surrounding areas, and through the whole country, by giving to Emmanuel Kant School so we can provide hope through education.
