Ecuador - Dios Es Amor
Where HOPE is given: Families
Began partnering with E=H: 2011
The Dios Es Amor Church was founded in prison. When the founders were deprived of liberty, they accepted God in their hearts and decided to form a group of worshipers in prison. That is the reason they called themselves “Dios es Amor” (God is Love). When the founders were released from prison, they looked for a place to continue their church. After several years, they heard about the scholarship program through others and began working with Education Equals Hope.
Children come to the church every day to do their homework, and the church provides classrooms and a welcoming place.
Their goal is to see students study at university, prepare for a career, or learn a trade that helps them to have a stable future. The hard reality is that they have seen children who have left school grow up to be unable to find a stable job, and many of the girls have become single mothers. They desire to change this reality. A few years ago, their goal was to help students finish high school, but currently, if you have not finished university, you really cannot find a decent job in the workplace.
