Where HOPE is given: Individuals
Began partnering with E=H: 2003

Carmen Bajo is a very poor community situated on the side of a hill. Most of the church members live in the area. The unemployment rate in this community is near 70%, and those who do have jobs work in manual labor, such as maids, factory workers, masons, and plumbers. Pastor Fabian Erazo and his wife, Grace, lead this ministry. They began working with the people of Carmen Bajo in 2000.
Education Equals Hope was founded in the Carmen Bajo neighborhood in 2003, when our co-founder, Cameron Vivanco, met Laura Farinango. Since then, as the program has grown, Carmen Bajo has also grown to address a variety of holistic needs for their scholarship students. They provide hot meals, Christian education, and practical support to their students. The leadership of Carmen Bajo dreams to be able to provide extracurricular activities with educational content including languages, art, dance, music, sewing, reading and games.
