Ecuador - Amadas
Began partnering with e=h: January 2022
Amadas, meaning beloved, is the name End Slavery Ecuador (ESE) uses for the women they serve. For over 10 years, ESE has been working with women who are involved in prostitution, and they want these women to know first and foremost that God loves them. Their vision is to see women restored and communities transformed, and their mission is to facilitate the holistic transformation of women in the context of prostitution through the love of Jesus.
Their holistic approach combines:
• weekly street outreach
• annual events (like a Women’s Conference, School Supply Drive, and Christmas Parties)
• a transformational jewelry workshop called EsperanzArt
• biweekly discipleship over coffee or a meal
• a Personal Development Plan unique to each Amada they disciple that focuses on the areas of mental health, spiritual growth, education, and employment
• providing support with food, medicine, and emergency support in the case of a death in the family
• connecting the women they serve to other public and private resources and organizations that can meet the needs they express
More than 300 women, along with their families, are direct beneficiaries of this ministry. Scholarships go towards school supplies and uniforms for the Amadas’ children, as well as educational support for the Amadas themselves. Thank you for helping to be the hands and feet of God in the lives of these women and children!
