Hope 2 Others - Clean Water in Kitale, Kenya

Did you know that at least 2.2 billion people rely on water supplies that are unsafe, putting them at risk of contracting cholera, dysentery, typhoid and polio? (UNWATER 2021) (UNICEF WASH)

Education Equals Hope’s students in Kenya are a part of this 2.2 billion. We have 6 Ministry Sites in Kenya and desire to provide a Hope 2 Others (H2O) filters to each of our students, their families and the community in which they live.

For now, we are focusing on two of these sites – City of Light Academy and St. Michael’s Academy where we have a need for 600 filters.

You can share a cup of clean water and education with a student every month for $50. Your first month’s donation will cover the cost of the filter, a new bucket to hold the clean water, shipping, customs, taxes, etc.*

Each additional month’s donation will help remove other barriers – such as transportation, uniforms, school supplies, tutoring & books, tuition assistance & teacher salaries – for our students. Education truly is the best means for escaping the vicious cycle of poverty.

*Each student’s Hope 2 Others filter will be replaced every 3 years. Each filter can clean up to 150 gallons of water per day and could potentially last up to 10 years but we want to keep our students safe.
